Reconstructive Orthopedics relocated its corporate office and Moorestown office to a mid-century modern office building across from Strawbridge Lake in Moorestown. Ragan Design Group adapted the building, originally constructed in the 1960’s as a bank office and branch, and later used as an information technology company office, to become a medical office on the ground floor and a corporate office and physical therapy office on the second floor.

In addition to adapting the building to a new use, focus was placed on improving the energy efficiency of the building as well as provisions for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The building’s large centralized heating system was decentralized through the use of mini-split HVAC units to serve the many small exam rooms to allow the spaces to be better tuned to the needs of the users and the building exposure. Insulation was introduced wherever possible, particularly on the roof.

The mid-century modern vibe of the building was enhanced with new modern elements of this century, where exterior alterations were needed to convey the corporate identity and introduce new accessible entrances.
